Lucile Evelyn Mischke, 97, of Chillicothe, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Manor Court, Liberty Village, Peoria, Ill.
Born Feb. 9, 1913, in Gilchrist, Ill., to Emma and Steven Falletti, she married Floyd John Mischke Feb. 9, 1935, in Peoria. He died Oct. 12, 1996.
Lucile was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lois Jane Mischke; two sisters, Theresa Ellis and Norma Notzke; and her mother, Emma Falletti Humphrey.
Surviving are one sister, Emma Zimmerman of Manito; one daughter, Judith (Donald) Young of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Spokane, Wash.; one son, Robert Mischke of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Evyan Mischke of Atlanta, Ga., and Vanessa Capozzi of Nashville, Tenn.; three great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Leila and Shaina Capozzi; and one nephew, Daryl (Nedra) Notzke of Chillicothe.
For almost 45 years, she and her husband lived in Milwaukee, Wis., where they raised their family.
They returned to the Peoria area after Floyd’s retirement, finding a welcoming home in Chillicothe for their final years.
Lucile was a superb homemaker and mother, providing love, compassion and structure to the family. She taught her daughter, Judi, and her son, Robert, how to follow their dreams and taught us all the value of laughter and friendships throughout her life. She was an excellent mother and a dear friend to so many people.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday, March 15, at Davison-Fulton Anderson Chapel in Chillicothe with services to follow. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. A time of memory and refreshments with family will be held from 4-6 p.m. Monday at Haylumoon Restaurant.
