Ronald E. Grusy, 63, of Cleveland, formerly of Chillicothe, died on Friday, Aug. 13, 2010.
He was the son of the late LaVida and Albert Grusy Jr. and married Lynn (Neville) Wessner. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Regan (Anders) Bergstrom and Jana; one granddaughter; two stepdaughters, Margaret and Janice Wessner; and two siblings, Curt (Linda) Grusy of LeRoy, Ill., and Anita (Don) Rateike of Greenwood, Ind.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Western Illinois University, a Master of Communicative Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and a Master of Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis.
He was an active, passionate member of Toastmasters International, most recently having served as District 10 Governor. He earned the organization’s highest recognition, Distinguished Toastmaster, and was a certified world class speaking coach.
In 2008, he retired as regional director of rehabilitative services for Sun Health Care Corp.
In 2009 he published his book, “Someday Isle.”
A celebration of life was Aug. 17 at Grace Lutheran Church in Cleveland Heights.
