Marguerite M. Derr Nickrent, 90, of Chillicothe, formerly of Roanoke, died at 7:10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

Born Feb. 23, 1920, in Chatsworth to Theodore and Clara Haberkorn Derr, she married Raymond Nickrent May 8, 1944, in Chatsworth. He died Aug. 13, 1986.

Surviving are two daughters, Judith Ann (Ray) McKinney of Imnaha, Ore., and Janice Lynn (Ramon) Smith of Chillicothe; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, James (Dorothea) Derr of Pekin and Paul (Mary) Derr of Coal City.

She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

She helped with school custodial work with her husband at Sowers Elementary. She was a housekeeper in Roanoke and a meter reader for water and sewer in Roanoke.

She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church.

There will be no visitation or services. Cremation will be accorded. Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke is handling arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Lupus Foundation or Rescue 33.
