Peoria Heights, Ill. -

Stephanni Anne Hasten, 33, of 5533 N. Galena Road, Peoria Heights, died peacefully at 11:42 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, surrounded by her family.

Stephi was born Oct. 28, 1976, in Peoria, Ill., to Linda Brown Molloy and the late Frank A. Molloy.

She is survived by her parents, Guy Lyle Hasten and Linda Molloy Hasten of Chillicothe; sister, Staci Wahls (Mark McDonald) of Champaign; uncles, Mike (Deb) Brown of Tucson and Tim (Kris) Hasten of Washington; aunts, Becky (Bill) Murphy of Mossville and Andrea Rediger of Dunlap and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her biological father, Frank Molloy; grandfathers, Bob Brown and “Doc” Hasten; and grandmothers, Gene Hasten and Anna Mae Brown.

She had attended Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, Ill. She also attended Easter Seals and Spina Bifida camp at Lake Bloomington. Stephi was our Drama Queen and the Social Director of everyone. She was so positive and optimistic and never knew a stranger.

She lived her life to its fullest, and touched everyone that knew her, and quite a few who didn’t. Stephi wants friends and family not to be sad, but to be happy for she is pain free and in a better place. She wants people to remember her by celebrating her life.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents of OSF St. Clare Home for the wonderful care and all the love she was given. We would also like to thank all her doctors and nurses who cared for her and give a special thank you to Neuro ICU nurse, Stephanie McCabe, for helping us through this journey.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 13 at Wright and Salmon Mortuary. A celebration of her life will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 14 at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Allen officiating. Further visitation will be 30 minutes before the services. Cremation will be accorded with burial of ashes at a later date.

Donations may be made to The Mildred Miller Endowment for Spina Bifida through the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center Foundation.
