Mary Charlotte Kauzlarich, 94, of Keokuk, Iowa, formerly of Chillicothe, Ill., died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at River Hills Village in Keokuk.
She was born Sept. 4, 1915, in Granger, Mo., the daughter of Archie Wayne and Grace Selby Cline. On Nov. 12, 1949, she was united in marriage to Daniel S. Kauzlarich in Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1983.
Mary graduated from Granger High School in Granger as valedictorian of her class.
She had been employed at the Shaffer Pen Co. in Ft. Madison, Iowa for 10 years before her marriage.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hamilton, Ill., and Chillicothe.
Mary enjoyed playing pinochle, reading and traveling. She enjoyed volunteering at her church and
while her daughter was in school, she volunteered at her school.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kauzlarich and her partner Donald Lowell of Chicago, a nephew and several nieces.
Mary was also preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Glover and a brother, Wayne Cline.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk. Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, with the family meeting with friends at that time.
