Terry  "Sugar Bear" Vinson, 56, of 1611 N. Hoyt St., died at 2:10 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, in Chillicothe .

He was born June 2, 1952 in Peoria, Ill., to Everet and Margaret Ramos Vinson.

Surviving are his mother of Chillicothe; one son, Micheal Vinson of Peoria; his brothers and sisters, Yvonne Lopez Carmack, Debra (Tim) Vinson McVeitty, Brenda (Tim) Vinson Graffis, Jim (Holly) Vinson, Ron Vinson, Bruce Vinson, Joe Vinson,  all of Chillicothe, Elizabeth (Eric) Vinson Wenger of Henry, Chris (Cheryl) Vinson of Scottsdale, Ariz., Paul Lopez (Beth Lancaster) of Pennsylvania, Linda Lopez, Tim (Trish) Lopez  and Don Colwell, all of Moline. Also surviving is one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Lopez, and stepfather, Everet Vinson.

He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe.

Funeral Mass will be at St. Edward Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Tom Mizeur will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.  Interment will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery. 

Memorials may be made to Rescue 33 or the donor's choice.
