Lawrence Eugene Churchill, 61, of 1807 N. Finney St., Chillicothe, died at 10:44 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born June 14, 1947, in Canton to Harry H. and Betty L. Suydam Churchill, he married Terri L. Gearhart June 15, 1995, in Peoria.

Surviving are his children, Kathy (Kenneth) Barnard, Tammy (John Clark) Ford and Sandy (Tom) Craig; his stepchildren, Tisa (Jeff) Boyd, Jennifer Painter, Sharla (Richard) Mills, Ellissa (Keith) Jones and Adam Painter; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, James F. (Cynthia) Churchill; and one sister, Marcia (Lloyd) Ragar.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

He was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for more than 40 years, last working at the Tech Center Building K in Mossville.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of friends and relatives will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Timberlane Apt. Clubhouse, 2900 W. War Memorial Drive, Peoria.
