James W. Crose, of Chillicothe, died at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Heritage Manor in Chillicothe.

Born March 13, 1922, in Neoga, to Alonzo and Merle (Padgett) Crose, he married Betty A. James in Chillicothe March 31, 1948. She survives.

Surviving are three sons, Jim A. (Carolyn) Crose of Chillicothe, Steve Crose of Dover, Tenn., and Todd (Roxana) Crose of Princeville; one daughter, Cindy (Allen) Ginger of Chillicothe; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in France. 

He was employed at Pabst Brewery until its closing.

He was a lifetime member of the Peoria Casting Club and VFW Post 4999.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. The Rev. Joe Hamilton of the First Baptist Church of Wyoming will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Rescue 33 or Heritage Manor.
