Violet R. Turbyfill, 88, of Mossville, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Peoria.
Born in Woodford County Feb. 20, 1921, to August E. and Lucille (Staab) Krause, she married Benjamin Turbyfill Dec. 14, 1957, in Peoria. He died July 24, 1989.
Surviving are one daughter, Carrie Turbyfill of Peoria; one son, Robert (Elizabeth) Turbyfill of Riverton, Utah; one stepdaughter, Glenda (Larry) McElroy of Gulf Shores, Ala.; six grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Eugene A. (Sue) Krause of Mossville.
She was a former 4-H leader for many years.
She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She attended the Christ Renews His Parish ("Chirp") retreat and Cursillo.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe. The Rev. Glenn H. Harris will officiate. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria. Recitation of the rosary will be at 5 p.m. Friday, with visitation following until 7 p.m.
