Alma Louise Placher, 95, of Chillicothe, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at Heritage Health Manor in Chillicothe.

Born on Oct. 24, 1922, in Sparland to C. Tobias and Alma L. (Walker) Nighswonger, she married Lester Placher in Palmyra, Mo., on Sept. 26, 1942. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2007. She is also preceded by her parents, four brothers and a sister.

Surviving is a daughter, Carol (Drew) Sieben of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and two sons, Tim (Cheryl) Placher of Lacon and Rick (Jo) Placher of Knoxville; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Louise was a beautician for 30 years and also a real estate agent for a number of years. She was a member of the Edelstein Congregational Church and attended the Plymouth Congregational Church in Chillicothe.

Funeral service for Louise was at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe on Wednesday, Jan. 24. Ernie Russell officiated. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
