Nola R. Zimmerman, 83, of El Paso, Ill., passed away at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at the Eureka Apostolic Christian Home.

She was born on Dec. 6, 1933, in Sandoval, Ill., a daughter of Ora and Mabel Wiggins Stone. She married Jerry J. Zimmerman on July 5, 1952, in Sandoval, Ill. He passed away on Feb. 13, 2011.

Surviving include two daughters, Karen (Randy) Kelly of Washington; Pam (Glenn) Payton of El Paso; one brother, Alvin Stone of Secor; two sisters, Della (Kenny) Day of Salem, Ill.; Naomi Nonn of Tucson, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Nola was a loving homemaker and did child care in her home for many years. She also was active in the Girl Scouts and Brownies.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of El Paso and was active in her church.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Rev. Dr. Tim Smith officiated. Visitation was one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will be in Secor Cemetery.
