A Peoria man attempted to get rid of evidence while being arrested in Chillicothe Jan. 22.
Maurice R. Brock, of Peoria, 35, was a passenger in the vehicle of Britney N. Girton, 22, of Peoria.
Girton’s vehicle was stopped at Fourth Street and Hillcrest Drive. She was arrested on DUI as well as other charges.
Brock had a Peoria County warrant for his arrest from failing to appear in traffic court.
While he was being booked at the Chillicothe Police Department, 823 N. Second St., a small baggie fell from his feet, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Department report.
He picked up the baggie and ate it.
A Peoria County sheriff’s deputy arrived and transported him to Methodist Medical Center to be treated.
Brock said the baggie contained “a lil weed,” according to the report.
He was treated and released from Methodist, and then had a charge of possession of cannabis added.
Both Girton and Brock were transported to Peoria County Jail.
