The IVC Educational Foundation recently made a second donation to the SMART Board campaign. The donation of $15,000 will equip students with interactive remotes for the SMART Boards in their classrooms. This donation comes after the IVCEF’s initial $20,000 matching donation.

The interactive remotes allow teachers to have immediate feedback on lessons each day. Students respond via the remotes and teachers know immediately how many students have answered questions correctly. The remotes are integrated into lessons as well.

In addition to their donations to the SMART Board Campaign the IVC Educational Foundation annually funds $5,000 in teacher mini-grants, allowing teachers to enhance their curriculum with special classroom projects.

The IVCEF raised $60,000 for cardiovascular fitness equipment in IVC High School’s new fitness center; and provided $50,000 to enhance science education at all district schools. IVCEF grants also make it possible for more students to travel abroad with their language classes.

The IVCEF was organized in 1992 as a not-for-profit, tax-exempt corporation whose sole purpose is to expand and enrich the educational opportunities for students in the IVC District 321.

Each year the IVCEF solicits community donations of cash, checks and pledges in the forms of simple donation, matching funds, grants, real estate, stocks and bonds. A board comprised of local individuals regularly meet to oversee the investments and review funding opportunities.

The IVC Education Foundation board maintains that helping students betters the entire community, because, “students are our future.” Support for the foundation helps make a material difference in the quality of education at the district level. Tax-deductible donations may be sent to: The IVC Educational Foundation, 1300 W. Sycamore, Chillicothe, IL 61523.
