The girls basketball team had three players in double digits during their opening round victory at the Dixon Holiday Tournament Dec. 27 over Oregon, 53-46.

Dunlap took a four point lead to halftime after jumping out to a 17-12 lead in the first.

The third quarter saw the Eagles hold Oregon to only six points, while adding 14 of its own.

Lexi Hobbs led the team with 18 points, while Cassandra Gibbons was three points behind with 15. Kristeen Morgan had 13 points.

The next day, the Eagles got knocked into the consolation bracket after falling to both East Moline, 39-30, and Aquin, 58-49.

In the first game, Hobbs was held to only 10 points, with the next highest scorer being Morgan Erickson with seven points.

Hobbs scored 24 points in the second game, with Erickson again netting seven. Elizabeth Zoz was a point less with six.

Thursday had the girls facing off against the hosting Duchesses.

Dunlap suffered a close one point loss to Dixon, 36-35.
