A former Chillicothe woman was arrested Oct. 7 in Chillicothe on a Hidalgo County, N.M., warrant.
The Illinois State Police District 8 notified the Chillicothe Police Department that Erin J. (Staley) Whitley, 20, of 627 Graycliff, La Puente, Calif., was staying at 911 Cutright in Chillicothe.
Police went to the residence to arrest her. She was transported to Peoria County Jail to await extradition.
According to a CPD report, Whitley was wanted for vehicular homicide and great bodily harm by vehicle which occurred during the summer of 2008.
Whitley was wanted on one count of committing “the crime of homicide by vehicle in that she did intentionally operate a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating drugs, to a degree that rendered her incapable of safely driving a vehicle and thereby caused the death of 19-year-old Zachariah Zambrowski.”
The second count read that Whitley committed “great bodily harm in that she did intentionally operate a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating drugs, to a degree that rendered her incapable of safely driving a vehicle and thereby caused great bodily harm to 24-year-old Daniel E. Thomsen.”
The warrant was signed by Gary Tate of the New Mexico State Police.
Both counts are third degree felonies.
A cash bond was set at $25,000.
