The Illinois Valley Central High School Chorale will once again perform carol-grams to spread the holiday spirit and help raise funds for a project.

For a $20 donation the IVC Chorale will sing Christmas carols, as well as provide Christmas cookies and a card to a designated recipient. The IVC Chorale will deliver all carol-grams Dec. 16 and 17.

“It is a great gift for anyone. This is a Christmas gift no one seems to forget,” said Amy Greer of the IVC Vocal Music Department’s Booster Club.

To reserve a time call Greer at 274-8919. She cautions those interested to book soon because time slots quickly fill.

Last year the Chorale raised money for a new piano. This year money raised from carol-grams will be used to offset the costs of a trip to New York City in May.

While in New York students will attend a Broadway workshop, which will teach choreography, staging and music. The workshop is tied to the Broadway production of Lion King, which the students will attend.

The IVC choir students will perform at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, visit Radio City Music Hall, St. Paul’s Chapel and do some site seeing while in New York.

The students and the Booster Club are working to raise as much money as they can to offset the cost of the trip for all students. Greer adds that anyone who would like to make a donation for the trip may do so at the IVC High School office.
