A Chillicothe man was booked on charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery and home invasion after a stabbing early Tuesday in a Rome home.
Ken Scott, 46, of 1405 Cloverdale Road, Chillicothe, was arrested after allegedly breaking into a home at 5221 Marquette Street off of Illinois Route 29, and stabbing Christopher Hardin, whose address was listed as 1835 S. Arago St. in Peoria.
Hardin was treated at Proctor Hospital for a large cut on his left hand and a puncture wound to his left shoulder, according to the Peoria County Sheriff's Department report.
Hardin and Scott's ex-wife, Evelyn Scott, were staying in the home of Richard Hill on Marquette Street, when Scott entered through the back door around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday just as everyone in the house had gone to bed. Scott allegedly grabbed a filet knife from a drawer in the kitchen and jumped on top of Hardin who was on a pull-out sofa bed in the living room.
Hill and others in the house were able to get Scott off of Hardin and subdue him until officers arrived.
