After taking over Dornon Home Appliance Center in March, Staats Home Appliance Center have been making plenty of improvements.
Besides adding new inventory, owner Ray Perry said that other improvements have been made both inside and outside the story.
“We’ve made prices better,” Perry said. “We cleaned the outside of the store so it doesn’t look like a junkyard.
We’ve just made a lot of good, new improvements.”
According to Staats website, all pricing is done upfront, with no extra fees tacked on after the work is finished.
The store, located at 322 S. Fourth St., services Chillicothe, Mossville, Rome, Dunlap and more. Perry makes any service calls himself, with the company offering 24-hour emergency service.
He said that Staats has been in operation since 1949.
The store carries a variety of washers, dryers, dishwashers, air conditioners and heaters. It also features parts needed for repairs.
“We have a saying, ‘Calling Staats is like having a friend in the business,’” Perry said.
This is the second store that Staats now has, with the first being in Creve Coeur.
Besides expanding to the new location, Perry said it is possible that the store may be expanded in the future.
“I like the area,” Perry said. “I like the community. It was just a good way of expanding versus other areas.”
He added that the community has given a lot of good reception to Staats coming to the area, and that he had received a lot of new business.
