Patricia Westerman-Connor
Address: 1014 Hushaw Ave.
Age: 51
Family: Mike (spouse); Megan (daughter) and Mitch (son)
Job: University of Illinois-Extension-nutrition educator
Education: Master’s — University of Illinois — Educational Administration and Supervision; Bachelor’s — Bradley University — Elementary and Early Childhood Education; and an Associate’s — ICC. I am a graduate of IVC School District 321.
Elective/appointive offices held or leadership roles: Chillicothe Township Clerk, Alderman, city of Chillicothe. I am also the chairman of the city of Chillicothe Shademakers Advisory Board/Beautification Committee. I am a member of the Chillicothe Optimist Club and the Town Theatre Board of Directors, South School PTA and VFW Post 4999 Auxiliary.
Alderman’s role: The role of an alderman is diverse. First, you are elected to represent your ward’s constituency (mine is Ward 3) and make yourself available to these citizens for concerns that arise. Secondly, as a city council member you have a responsibility to the city as a whole to represent them to the best of your ability usually by serving on committees appointed by the mayor.
Top priorities: I would like to continue to work with the Shademakers/Beautification Committee and to assist the “greening” of the city to the highest level. I would like to work on the riverfront development project as well as any assigned committees I receive.
Specific concerns about Ward 3: None specifically, but I am always interested in hearing any concerns.
Why residents should vote for you: If elected, I have the desire and interest to represent my ward and the city of Chillicothe to the best of my abilities. I have past experience in serving on the council and will work hard to represent the city and citizens for all future endeavors.
