Jeff Rushin

Address: 1604 N. Cutright St.

Age: 45

Family: Single (no children). I am the son of Paul and Dolores Rushin, the youngest of five children.

Job: Casey’s General Store, editor and publisher of http://ChilliBlogger.com

Education: Attended Illinois State University and Bradley University where I studied journalism and advertising, respectively.

Elective/appointive offices held or leadership roles: None

Alderman’s role: Someone who represents the interests of their ward. The Village of North Chillicothe incorporated with the City of Chillicothe nearly 45 years ago and deserves proportionate representation.

Top priorities: Emphasis on infrastructure and basic city services.

Specific concerns about Ward 4: I want to see sidewalks installed running north from CEC into Northtown. School children are walking to school in the middle of the road and this is a safety hazard.

Why residents should vote for you: I grew up on Cloverdale Road from the time I was born until I left for college in 1983. When I moved back to Chillicothe in 1996, I made my home on Cutright Street in North Chillicothe. I believe I would be a positive addition to the current representation of the Fourth Ward on the Chillicothe City Council. I am open to new ideas and I am progressive thinker. I have covered city government as a journalist for 25 years throughout central Illinois numerous news organizations. I understand how city government works and how sometimes it doesn’t work. If I should be fortunate enough to win, I will be available to all citizens to listen to their concerns and be a voice for them on the Chillicothe City Council.
