IVC Band Bash Highlights

The Illinois Valley Central Marching Grey Ghosts played old favorites and two of their three selections for this year’s program, “Chronometry,” Sunday afternoon at the corner of Second and Chestnut streets. Tim and Shelly’s 2nd Street Bar & Grill hosted a lunch/dinner fundraiser, as well as plenty of raffles, auctions, vendors and more.

The band is beginning its raising of additional funds to purchase new band uniforms and through the efforts of many, about $13,000 was raised. The coats themselves, according to Gail Quinn, can be $500 apiece. By the time the band is ready for the new uniforms in a year or two, they also may need more pants and hats, which could drive the cost close to $100,000 without any discounts.
