The 64th annual Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce banquet celebrated the efforts of business people Friday night at Pearce Community Center.

Chamber president Ben Alvarez cracked jokes and amused the crowd as the emcee. Many attendees won prizes from local businesses.

The Mountain Men performed their music before and during dinner, which was catered by Shawn Crabel of Catering by Design.

The IVCHS French National Honor Society provided the clean up of the dinner.

Irvin Latta received the past president’s award as he guided the chamber through the 2009 year.

Latta then gave the President’s Award to Marty Schlink for her willingness to pitch in and help when he needed it, he told the crowd.

Karen Moewe, executive director of the chamber, awarded Teresa Storti the Ambassador of the Year award for her assistance to Moewe.

The Chillicothe Optimist Club received the Organization of the Year with the club’s new project of owning and running Town Theatre.

Mediacom, which recently remodeled and is now the city’s largest employer, received Business of the Year.

Member of the Year was awarded to Eric Herron for his assistance to the chamber with events and heading the chamber’s golf outing.
