The Illinois Valley Central Educational Foundation awarded $15,000 in grants to IVC district classrooms for the 2018-19 school year.

This year, 25 grants were approved for classes ranging from kindergarten through high school. CEC was awarded seven grants, South was awarded five, Mossville was awarded seven and IVCHS was awarded six.

The 2018-19 IVCEF Grant recipients include: $500 to IVC counselor Mark Kosinski for the leadership retreat; $488.55 to IVC science teacher Sharon Padilla for small scale chemistry curriculum and equipment; $500 to the Mossville fourth grade team for book tasting: a smorgasbord of reading; $111.84 to South second-grade teacher Earle Capel for JRE science books; $500 to the Mossville kindergarten team for sensory, therapy and alternative seating; $1296.11 to the Mossville fifth grade team for flexible seating; $1,498.42 to CEC PE teachers Sean Esterdahl and Amanda Frazier for new physical education equipment; $500 to Mossville sixth-grade teacher Keeley Ruhland for flexible workspace options; $500 to Mossville sixth-grade teacher Sara Nudd for flexible workspace options; $494 to CEC junior high teacher Samantha Giugler for flexible seating; $253.98 to Mossville art teacher Jay Rudd for art club supplies; $492 to CEC fifth-grade teacher Kelcey Malahy for reading and math centers; $369.95 to Mossville fifth-grade teacher Jennifer Pillman for supplemental social studies resources; $500 to South third-grade teacher Lindi Fletcher for flexible seating options; $500 to South third-grade teacher Cat Knecht for student storage areas; $457.70 to CEC fifth-grade teacher Danika Boone; $496.45 to IVC science teacher Tonya Boyle for interactive science lessons, games and escape room; $310 to CEC junior high teacher Mary Shatto for flexible seating options; $500 to IVC Spanish teacher Stephanie Dukes for Spanish novels for the classroom library; $1,311.36 to CEC teachers Kelsey Breen, Amanda Frazier and Jessica Szmania for a Cricut and accessories; $450 to South kindergarten teacher Rebecca Kinnary for ESGI software; $1,470 to IVC math teacher Laura Campagna for Rocketbook Smart Notebooks; $500 to South first-grade teacher Angie Pacha for STEM materials and $489.84 to CEC fourth-grade teacher Kelli Owens for flexible seating.
