CHILLICOTHE — A Chillicothe teen was taken into custody Monday afternoon after a report of a handgun brought to school.

The staff of Chillicothe Junior High and Elementary Center were notified of the report after school had been released. The Chillicothe Police Department responded to interview a 13-year-old student, according to a news release from Chief Scott Mettille.

The weapon, which turned out to be a steel Airsoft gun, was located and the student was taken into custody for disorderly conduct.
