PEKIN — Republican voters in Tazewell County ultimately chose Brandon Hovey, Nick Graff and Greg Menold to represent the 2nd District on the County Board on Tuesday, though they will not be formally elected until ballots are cast in November.

Those three and Joe Hranka faced off for three open positions on the Republican primary ballot, with no candidates appearing on ballots for Democrats. Hranka received the least amount of support among Republicans with 2,403 votes, or 18 percent, eliminating him from the race.

Menold garnered the greatest support with 4,388 votes, or 33 percent, while Graff came in second with 3,517 votes or 27 percent, and Hovey earned 2,810 votes or 21 percent. They will run unopposed for three open seats on the November ballot.
