Daisy Girl Scout Mady Starcevich is pulling out all of the stops to collect as many donations as possible for the men and women who keep America free.

Starcevich joined the Daisy Girl Scout Troop 4730 this year at age 5 and is very excited about her campaign to treat soldiers to Girl Scout Cookies — Thin Mints, S'mores, Samoas, Tagalongs, Savannah Smile, Trefoils and Do-si-dos.

“The soldiers don’t get cookies unless I get cookies for them,” said Mady.

Starcevich’s mother, Krista Kelley, created a web page, https://digitalcookie.girlscouts.org/scout/madelyn107519, where the public can donate cookies to active duty soldiers. Kelley also created a Facebook page titled “Madys operation cookie drop” and the hashtag #madysoperationcookiedrop.

There was $165 collected in one day on the web page and 33 boxes donated on her cookie site. All together in two weeks 66 boxes of cookies have been donated to Operation Cookie Drop through Starcevich’s efforts. Forty-one percent of those were donated to soldiers. There are approximately 25 days left in the campaign. All of Troop 4730 are participating in the endeavor.

“I want a little person to realize they can make a big difference no matter what their age is,” said Kelley.

Mady asked that people help her cause.

“We need to help our soldiers,” she said.

The cookies are delivered as part of Operation Santa around Christmas.
