59TH ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARADE is at 2 p.m. Nov. 22 on Second Street in downtown Chillicothe. Sponsored by the Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce.
ROCK ISLAND DEPOT MUSEUM, on Cedar Street by the railroad tracks across from Otto's Monuments, will be open all afternoon Nov. 22. The fully restored circa 1880's depot is one of few remaining wooden depots in Illinois. Original interior houses a treasure trove of Rock Island Railroad and Santa Fe Railroad memorabilia from the golden age of railroading. Huge landscaped model train layout, replicating the very trains that once passed through Chillicothe. Free admission to kids of all ages and free candy.
AMERICAN LEGION POST 9 is serving all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8-11 a.m. every Sunday. Cost is $6. Post home is at 1043 N. Second St.

FREE COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER is from noon-4 p.m. Nov. 27 at Happy Thought Coffee downtown. The meal is free to people of all ages in a friendly atmosphere, including those who would otherwise be alone during the holidays or need a helping hand that day. Donations will be accepted, and all donations will go to Chillicothe Community Needs Agency. Meal includes turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberries, salad and pumpkin pie. Call 274-6623 to make a reservation so enough food can be available.
BAKE SALE AND CHRISTMAS RAFFLE is Nov. 29 at Kroger. Spon. by St. Mark Lutheran Church’s Women of the ELCA. A handcrafted snowman will be this year’s featured raffle item.
