The Chillicothe Junior High Mustangs took on Princeville Wednesday night, as well as heart disease.

The CJH Lady Mustang volleyball team hosted “Paint the Gym Red” to benefit the American Heart Association.

The project began when Kinney asked the Illinois Elementary School Association about doing the event. The IESA then gave Kinney the green light to use a red and white ball for the game, which is the first game of its kind sanctioned by the IESA.

The team sold red hearts, which were on display in the gym for the game. During the game, there was a raffle of baked goods as well as red candy on sale, thanks to donations from CUB foods.
