Alexis Helfrich wants to party, and organizers will give the young social butterfly that gift with a No More Chemo Party from 1-5 p.m. Feb. 13 at St. Edward School.
The event will have carnival food, like hot dogs, pop and cotton candy; a silent auction; 50/50 raffles; a DJ; a bake sale; popcorn; balloons; games; and face painting. Guests are asked to bring along a can of silly string.
Helfrich, who was diagnosed with Wilm’s tumor at age 2, recently returned from Chicago, where she received a stem cell transplant.
Although the results were not what the family had hoped for, Helfrich continues to live her life to the fullest and greet each day with a smile.
To lend a hand with the party, make a donation to the family or to help with the event, call Kerry Elias at 472-2950, or Sue Lawson at 253-5787; or e-mail them at eliasfour@yahoo.com or Lawson_S_M@cat.com.
