Mediacom Communications is seeking to fill more than 20 positions to fill vacancies and recently created positions at its Chillicothe center. Two job fairs will be Saturday and March 19 as part of an effort to recruit new employees and provide on-site job application assistance.
The job fairs will be held at Mediacom’s Chillicothe facility, 611 S. Fourth Street. Job seekers will be given assistance with online applications and onsite interviews. They are encouraged, but not required, to bring a resume. All new employees receive paid training, as well as competitive salaries and an extensive benefit package that includes health, vision, retirement, and free cable and Internet services. Many positions are eligible for commissions or bonuses.
Both full- and part-time employees are being sought for in-bound customer service and sales representatives. Full-time positions are available in the company’s national sales and retention center that is part of Mediacom’s Chillicothe operation.
Saturday's job fair is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The second job fair will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 19.
In addition to recruiting for inbound customer service positions and sales and retention specialists, several other positions are available for employees whose skills are appropriate for functional areas that include telephone activation, dispatch services and telemarketing.
Mediacom’s Chillicothe facility was recently expanded and fully renovated to modernize work areas and provide more employee amenities. It can accommodate approximately 200 employees across a range of functional disciplines. It is Mediacom’s largest employee center in Illinois, making Mediacom the largest employer in Chillicothe.

TEAM TRRFCC WINTER CARNIVAL is from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Chillicothe Elementary Center. Food tickets are $5 for a choice of either a corn dog or funnel cake, along with a lemon shake-up. Each item is also sold separately for $3. The gym will house inflatables, some appropriate for all ages. Wristbands, which allow students unlimited access to the inflatables, are sold for $6 each or four for $20. Traditional carnival games will also be offered, including such favorites as ring toss, tricycle races, black-light ping pong, panning for treasure, bag toss and face tattoos. The carnival also includes a silent auction for many gift baskets and a 50/50 cash drawing at 2, 3 and 4 p.m. The CEC Jazz Band will also provide entertainment.Twenty-five percent of the proceeds will go to St. Jude. The remainder will go to the three CEC families affiliated with the organization.
