Ribs, chili and a fishing tournament all make up this weekend’s 14th annual “Hog Wild” Rib Classic, Chili Cook-off and ChillBilly Fishin’ Tourney at the Illinois River at the foot of Walnut Street.

Proceeds from the event benefit Rescue 33, Chillicothe’s all-volunteer ambulance squad, and the auction benefits CrossWord Café.

New to the weekend is the ChillBilly Fishin’ Tournament Sunday, with Asian carp as the fishermen’s target.

Cost is $50 per boat, with sign-in from 6-7 a.m. and fishing starting at 7 a.m. Contestants must used a hand-held dip net, not a fishing pole, and have a fishing license.

Each heat will have a prize for funniest and most original costumes. Payouts, which are dependent on the number of entries, go to the top four in each heat and the top overall.

A Non-perishable food drive will be all three days for Love in Action food pantry.
