Seeing stars: Danny Kincaid, 7, of Chillicothe, entertains himself with a spinner prior to the start of the annual Fourth of July fireworks display Saturday at Cutright Park on the Illinois River. Despite the unseasonably cold weather this holiday, a crowd of about 3,500 people waited close to 45 minutes for the action to start as workers attempted to calibrate the angle of the fireworks due to the wind. Additionally, the rain also delayed the work. Organizer Steve Maurer said they wanted to make the event safe. This year’s show cost about $20,000.
