The journalism career always seems to be evolving for me, whether it’s my coverage, my interests or my job placement.
If you've been watching the local TV news or reading the Chillicothe Times-Bulletin, you've seen the spirit of the Grey Ghosts rising in full force.
While the first football game didn't go the way the Grey Ghosts wanted, there was lots of spirit to go around.
There simply was too much in my notebook to put in print all that was said at U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock’s town hall meeting a week ago.
Some Chillicotheans could not attend due to work, but that didn’t stop a huge crowd from gathering at Chillicothe Fire Station No. 1.
The 29-year-old representative may have left town with a few new friends too. He told those in attendance to simply call him, “Aaron.”
What would you do if you were given $500 with no strings attached?
Once CornFest is done, it’s all downhill for summer to be over.
There’s nothing like catching up with friends while trying to chow down on delicious corn on the cob. Volunteers made the lunch/dinner go round, with many helping as groups from businesses or organizations.
We have a very nice online tool here in the newsroom that measures our website visits.
Lots of changes are occurring at the Chillicothe Police Department.
The department took a hard hit the week of July 12 through 16. On that Tuesday morning, K-9 Konan died at Sgt. Rich Mark’s home.
Construction, no matter how annoying and time consuming, is a good thing. Change is, essentially, good, as they say.
Have you noticed a new feature on our websites called “Morning Minutes?”
I’ve never been one for heights.
That feeling of nothing below me and looking down to confirm it has never been acceptable.
Recently, I attended a Morton Rotary lunch with Morton Times-News editor Nathan Domenighini, who has been a member for three years.
I thought cold, hard cash would always be good in the U.S.A. I guess the future is in cold, hard plastic.
In this week’s blog, I want to rant about flip-flops — you know, those cheap plastic shoes with the strap that goes between your toes?
When you walk they make that annoying flip-flop sound.
It’s been some time since we’ve had Rivertown Rumblings in the Chillicothe Times-Bulletin.
Residents seemed to enjoy the snippets of information, but it was hard to always come up with that type of information.
After working at my college newspaper for two years, one semester as a reporter, and the following three as a news editor, I am back at the “bottom” once again.
Or, am I?
As the months turned into weeks and then turned into days leading to my college graduation, I was sure I’d be just another one of the unemployed, back to the bottom of the totem pole for me.
I was sure I’d be scrounging for any job that came my way. I would have to put my shame aside and work whatever paid.
But, fortunately for me, I was only unemployed for a week.
And now, here I am, two months employed as the Chillicothe Times-Bulletin associate editor.
I recently returned from a nine day trip out west.
My boyfriend and I drove through parts of seven states: Iowa, Wyoming, South Dakota, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Illinois.
Some Chillicotheans got a sneak peek at the Niña and Pinta replicas docked at the foot of Walnut Street this morning.
The boats were picking up members of the media for a three-hour ride to Peoria as they made their way to dock at the Riverplex landing this weekend for tours.
Seeing the Niña again reminds me of one of my fond memories of first being the Chillicothe Times-Bulletin editor.
Chillicothe Times-Bulletin's website changes, Chillicothe Skatepark and Community Charities Re-Sale Shoppe open
New things seem to keep popping up in Chillicothe lately, and the Chillicothe Times-Bulletin’s website is no exception.
Is it just me or does it seem like there are no quiet restaurants anymore?
I’m on a quest for the Bret Michael’s Snapple Diet Trop-A-Rocka™ Tea.
