IVC High School graduate David Weber is running strong for the North Central College men’s cross country team. His latest stride was placing 17th out of 566 runners at the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis., Oct. 19. Weber finished the 8,000-meter course in 25:03.71 for a season-best time. The Cardinals took first in the event which consisted of 37 other teams. Since August the NCC cross country team has been ranked No. 1 in the NCAA division three. The team has taken first at the Hanover College Madison Kiwanis Invitational and the Country Financial Illinois State University Invitational earlier this season. In 2012, Weber competed in five races, placing in the top 15 twice. NCC will host the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships Nov. 2 and will be running for the 40th consecutive conference team title.
