Thomas J. Ramsay, 88, of Chillicothe, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Sharon Elms Health Care Center in Peoria.
Born March 28, 1924, in Chillicothe to Thomas Benton and Lydia Mae (Newell) Ramsay, he married Pauline Fenton Oct. 29, 1955, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his son, Gregory (Robin) Ramsay of Peoria; his daughter, Mary (Rick) Jackson of Chillicothe; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Earl.
He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a B-24 gunner in the South Pacific.
He worked as a tool grinder for Hyster Co. in Peoria for more than 30 years until the factory closed. He then worked for Caterpillar in Mossville for several years.
He was a member of the Lacon Country Club for a number of years.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. The Rev. Sammy Waller will be officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Chillicothe City Cemetery.
