Marilyn J. Thome, 75, of Pekin, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, in Washington.
She was born April 8, 1937, in Pekin to Melvin J. and Vera M. McDonald Behrends. She married Art Thome Oct. 16, 1992, in Pekin. He preceded her in death Aug. 16, 2001.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her sons, Chris Fardel of Pekin and Roger “Rocky” Fardel of Pekin; grandchildren, Zach Fardel of Pekin, Dustin Fardel of Pekin, Dallas Fardel of Pekin; great-grandson, Zander Fardel of Pekin; brother, Melvin (June) Behrends of Pekin; sister, Joan Stickle of Decatur; several nieces and nephews; and her extended family, Carolyn and Vince Kasky, Teri Minton, Brittany and Curt Evans, Seth and Brooke Minton, Brooke Chandler, Lilly Evans, Bentley Minton, Kurt and Gavin.
Marilyn worked in patient registration at Pekin Hospital, retiring in 2012. She enjoyed dining out with her close friends.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Abts Mortuary, with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin at a later date.
