About 1,666 Ameren Illinois customers in the Chillicothe area have been without power late this afternoon.
The outage not only affected some residents in town, but also those north of Chillicothe, including Fawn Hills. It was first reported at 4:17 p.m.
Workers found a bad breaker affecting the Hallock substation. The breaker will be replaced after workers relay lines to restore the power. Electricity is expected to restored around 6:30 p.m., according to spokesman Kenny Blum.
If residents still remain without power, they should call 1-800-755-5000 to report the continuation of the outage.
