We are all struggling to come to grips with this tragedy.
No expressions of sympathy can begin to ease the suffering of the parents, relatives and friends of those innocent children and adults murdered in the Sandy Hook Elementary School. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of them.
As one parent said, “We only have God left.”
Certainly the media and others will be hashing and rehashing the event for a long time in an attempt at understanding what
would cause a young man to choose to commit such a terrible act in a place of sanctuary where our children have every right to expect safety.
Lost in all of this, however, is the fact that there is the equivalent of 100 Newtown tragedies every day in our nation. The lives of more than 3,000 unborn girls and boys are “terminated” in the abortion mills in our country daily.
This month marks the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court decisions legalizing abortion on demand.
Since that time more than 53 million innocent unborn children will have been sacrificed on the altar of “choice.”
They have been sacrificed while residing in a place which should have offered maximum safety, their mother’s womb.
