Barbara Ann Sarver, 86, longtime resident of Rome, died at 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Chillicothe.
Born on June 17, 1926, in Rome to August and Eva Mae (DeFoe) Gauwitz, she married Wilfred Sarver on June 1, 1946, in Mossville. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children, Becky (Terry) Bobell Chris Heinrich and Carol (Daryl) Wagner, all of Chillicothe; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Dee) Gauwitz of Georgia; and one sister, Mary (Jack) Bradley of Chillicothe.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Julie Jacobs and Esther Portwood; three brothers, Ray, Jack and Bob; and one son-in-law, Andy Heinrich.
She worked for Jack Bradley Photo Shop in Chillicothe for many years until it closed.
She was a lifelong member of the Mossville United Methodist Church in Mossville and she enjoyed volunteering at Proctor Hospital.
Funeral services were Thursday at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe where visitation preceded services. The Rev. Bob Herath officiated. Burial was in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
