Kenneth E. Krider Sr., 66, of Chillicothe died at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at his home.
Born Aug. 7, 1946, in Canton to Kenneth R. and Josephine E. (Barnes) Krider, he married Linda M. Behrens on May 27, 1967, in Peoria.
Surviving are his parents; wife; two children, Julie L. (Brian) Schmidt of Janesville, Iowa, and Kenneth “Chip” E. (Tosca) Krider of Bradford; five grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth E. Morse of Eva, Tenn., and Dr. Diane S. (Dr. Peter) Krider-Ross; and one brother, Keith L. Krider of Chillicothe.
He worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Mossville for more than 31 years.
He was a member of the Peoria Heights Fire Department from 1969 to 1977. He was very active in the Lincoln Land Kustoms Car Club. He was a past Master Mason and very active in the George Washington Masonic Lodge No. 222, where he served as Senior Deacon, Junior Warden, Senior Warden and Worshipful Master in 2005. He was a past Cub Scout Master.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam War during 1966 to 1969.
Visitation was Dec. 4 at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Masonic rites were held following the visitation, along with reading of his eulogy and prayer. Cremation was accorded following the service, and burial will be held at a later date.
