Linda A. Ferguson, 71, of Bronson, Mich., formerly of Chillicothe, died at her daughter's home in Virginia on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012.
She was born July 1, 1941, in Marceline, Mo., to Glenn B. and Mary Helen (Ford) Othic. She grew up in Chillicothe, Ill., with her parents and sister, Karen.
Surviving are her husband, Howard; and her children and eight grandchildren, Mark (Valerie) Ferguson of Cedarburg, Wis., Kim (Greg) Krantz of Cumming, Ga., Jennifer (Mark) Eschle of Abingdon, Va., and Scott (Patty) Ferguson of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and eight grandchildren.
Also surviving is her sister, Karen Zuzevich of Rockford.
She attended St. Francis College in Joliet, where she began her studies in medical technology. She left her studies in her third year when she married her husband. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August 2011.
She was an active volunteer, most recently for the Branch County Food Pantry and Community Health Center. She worked the gift shop, the oncology unit and was a member of the lady's auxiliary.
Her life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson, with the Rev. Richard Fritz officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater, Mich.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the CHC Auxiliary.
