Illinois Valley Central senior Jordan Seele signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Illinois Central College April 17 at the ICC CougarPlex.

“I like that it’s close to home, so my family can still come and watch me play for a little bit longer,” Seele said. “I also like the facilities and the free tutoring program. The athletic facility is awesome. I feel really good about signing.”

After racking up plenty of wins as a Ghost, Seele said he hopes to transfer his wins from IVC to ICC.

“I hope we can have a good season and have a winning record,” Seele said. “We should be a good team.”

Despite having where he will play at next year decided, Seele still says he has to get used to having signed.

“It hasn’t really sunk in yet that I have signed to play in college,” Seele said. “It still feels like I’m just going to open gym.”

Seele said he learned a lot at IVC that he hopes to take with him to college.

“I hope to take my hard work ethic that coach Jim Thornton taught me as well as playing good defense first,” Seele said. “I also want to do the little things that it takes to win.”
