The Illinois Valley Central boys’ track team hosted Henry, DePue and Low Point Washburn April 17 and finished first.

“It was a beautiful day for a track meet,” coach Mike Themas said. “It was cool, and there was no wind.”

The team headed to Dunlap Friday and finished eighth in the Dunlap Relays.

“The weather was brutal,” Themas said. “It was cold and windy. It was very difficult to warm up and then stay warm. With the poor conditions, we still had some good efforts.
“Our 4x100 relay team took home fourth with a personal record time of 44.3.”

The 4x100 team is Drew Zadrzynski, Cole Daly, Hulett and Kyle Fouts.

The highest finisher for IVC was the 4x200 of Hulett, Zadrzynski, Cox and Gunjan Amin with a third-place finish in a personal record time of 1:37.7.

The team next competes at 4 p.m. Thursday at home against Flanagan, Princeville, Kewanee and Wethersfield.
