  • Illinois Valley Central graduates played at O’Brien Field in Peoria March 28, with some facing off on opposite sides of the field.
Illinois, who Justin and Jordan Parr and Drasen Johnson play for, beat Cody Kentzel and Derek Sprout’s Bradley Braves, 6-3.
Jordan Parr, who has a .387 batting average, hit an RBI single in the fifth inning.
Justin’s average of .287 has helped Illinois to a 15-10 record.
“It’s absolutely phenomenal that all those guys could be playing for Division I schools,” IVC head baseball coach Jerry Rashid said. “Not only that, but we have Trever Black and Alex Bradley at Muscatine College, Zach McAllister with the Cleveland Indians organization and Josh Parr with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.
“It’s very exciting from a baseball standpoint that our program could contribute to their careers. It gives great pride in the program that they are representing Chillicothe so well.”
Chris Razo, a 2009 Illinois Valley Central graduate, won his fourth game of the season for Illinois State University in a 3-2 victory against Indiana State Friday.
Razo threw six innings and gave up two unearned runs, two walks, six strikeouts and four hits.
Razo’s season record is now 4-1 and the team’s record is 17-8.
The Redbirds next play at 4:30 p.m. Friday at home against Wichita State.
Razo transferred from Heartland Community College and is a junior.
ISU played Illinois March 27 and won, 17-7.
Johnson pitched one inning in that game.
