Going along with the hot weather, Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce officials plan to have plenty of hot ears of corn ready for residents to feast upon Saturday.

All-you-can-eat corn dinners, including a hot dog, chips, baked beans and lemonade or ice tea, will be ready at 11 a.m. at the
Chillicothe Fire Station One, 217 W. Chestnut St. in City Park. Cost is $7/adults or $6/seniors (60-plus) and $3/children (12 and under). The event ends at 6 p.m.

Earlier in the morning, those scavenging for deals will find garage sales aplenty in the City-Wide Garage Sales. Flyers listing the locations are available now at Kroger, Pearce Community Center, Chillicothe Public Library, chamber office, Picket Fence, Covered Wagon Crafts, Cornerstore Video, South Side Bank and Happy Thought Coffee. Maps will also be available in City Park after 8 a.m. Saturday. There is a $1 off an adult corn meal in the flyer.

The Rev. Jerry Tupper will perform a magic show at 2 and 4 p.m. Vendors and tractors from the Central Illinois Heritage Tractor Club will be available, all behind the fire station that day.
