When the Illinois Valley Central freshman baseball team takes the field in 2012, it will feature Mcgwire Hidden and Seth Minton, who both competed at the World Series of Baseball for 13UAA in Johnson City, Tenn. July 14-18.

Both future Ghosts played for their team, Woodruff Heights.

There were 15 teams competing in the event.

Woodruff Heights finished one win from making the final four.

Hidden competed in the outfield throw competition along with 40 other players.

Contestants threw 10 baseballs from the outfield during the first two rounds, with points being awarded for each throw that landed in a bucket at home plate.

Following the first round, only five participants advanced to round two, and then only two to round three.

Hidden made two throws from the outfield to home plate during the first round and one in the second round.

In the third round, Hidden was the first to score a point, winning the competition in sudden death.
