After pulling an upset in the quarterfinals, Jake Schneider could not pull a bigger upset out during the semifinals of the Tri-County Junior Boys golf tournament.

On Thursday, Schneider, the No. 5 seed, faced off against top-seeded Alex Shane at the Newman Golf Course.

It took Shane the full 18 holes, plus one extra, to finally knock Schneider out of the tournament.

Shane went up by two holes early on after Shane bogeyed the sixth hole. He would add one more hole after the eighth.

However, Schneider mounted a comeback after Shane bogeyed the ninth hole and Schneider birdied the 10th. He would tie the match up on the 11th hole.

After trading the lead on the next few holes, Schneider entered the final hole with a one-hole advantage.

He would hook his tee shot left before his second shot fell 20 yards in front of the green. Shane would make bar on the hole, but Schneider missed his par putt.

On the first extra hole, Schneider missed a mid-range putt and would eventually concede the hole to Shane, giving him the win.

To earn the No. 5 seed, Schneider shot a 74 on the first day, which tied Tyler Johnson and Trevor Gold. He got his seed based on his back-nine score, which was the highest at 39.

In the quarterfinals, Schneider upset No. 4 Gold in 20 holes.
