Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford will be holding a Cash Dash from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Pearce Community Center.

Rutherford will be in attendance from 9:45-10:15 a.m., along with state Sen. Darin LaHood.

The Cash Dash allows community members to see if they have unclaimed property or assets that are currently held by the treasurer’s Unclaimed Property Division.

“People are thrilled to find out they have money just waiting for them through Cash Dash,” said Rutherford. “I encourage area residents to come visit me at local Cash Dash events for assistance is locating their money or property — plus everyone should make an attempt to review our online database annually so they don’t miss out on money or valuable assets the state is holding for them.”

Examples of unclaimed property currently held by the treasurer’s office include unpaid wages, money in inactive checking and savings
accounts, stocks, money orders, bill overpayments and more.

Unclaimed property can also be checked through the Cash Dash link at www.treasurer.il.gov.
