The magazine ranked the high school at No. 310.

The ranking is based on graduation rate, college matriculation rate, AP tests taken per graduate, average SAT/ACT scores/ average AP/IB/AICE scores and AP courses offered.

Dunlap has a graduation rate of 97 percent, with 94 percent bound for college.

Newsweek gave the school an overall score of .361.

Within Illinois, the school was named No. 15 out of 30 schools in the state.

Of the 30, only four came from down-state.
