The Dunlap boys track team looked strong in their first meet of the season.

The team had its first meet of the year at the Knox College Indoor Invite, and came away with two first-place finishes, along with various second- and third-place finishes.

Both Cody Durand and Justin Maskery came home with the gold for the Eagles. Durand jumped 14 feet in the pole vault, while Maskery jumped 5 feet 10 inches in the high jump.

Also jumping 14 feet in the pole vault was Tim Sills, who finished in second. The Eagles also took second in the high jump thanks to Tyler Blum. Blum also finished in third in the 55-meter high hurdles.

In the triple jump, Jeremy Draper finished in third and Cameron Okeke finished in fourth. Both jumped over 38 feet.

Three relay teams for Dunlap also took third place. They were the 4x800-meter relay team, consisting of Zach Lietner, Chris Johnson, Anthony Holshouser and Noah Neace, the 4x200-meter relay team, consisting of Okeke, Draper, Matt Borkovec and Zach Carroll, and the 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of Blum, Cameron Rohmann, Borkovec and Draper.

The Eagles’ next meet is Friday at the Illinois College Invitational in Jacksonville.
